New Current Work in Progress and Experiments
I have accessed print making workshops to make Collagraphs. I like to work directly from Nature, and I have therefore embraced working on clear sheets of Perspex and other transparent materials. This enables me to draw directly from life, using Sharpie pens and then turn these marks in to printmaking marks by making printable marks on reverse e.g. with Carborundum and wax.
For example, to capture the movement of horses, I went to a local stables and drew directly from life.
I have experimented using Environmentally friendly Akua printing inks, which are Soy based inks.
I have ordered special Collagraph wax from America and then followed US inspired ideas for using it and made prints. I have got some wax images to start working but early stages and am considering if this line of enquiry is worth pursuing.
At the moment, Collagraphs for me are not ends in themselves but rather source material to be incorporated and collaged in to this series on Phaeton.
