General Background Information
Katy's Artwork could be described as Figurative Abstraction; the starting point is the observable world.
Current mediums are Digital, Oil, Acrylic and Encaustic. Katy enjoys experimenting with materials.
Inspired by experiences in life, nature and people, her artwork is also informed by urgent issues of the day.
Themes relate to Climate Change, the Environment, loss of Biodiversity and Sustainability.
Originally trained at The Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art at Oxford University and then an MA in Art and Science at Central St. Martins.

Conceptual Portraits
Each painting stands on its own and is also part of 2 x Triptychs called 'Habitat 1 and 2'.
Traces of clothing merge with the surrounding habitats.
The intention in these triptychs is as conceptual portraits and they show Humankind's interdependence/interweaving with habitats.
